A Quarterly Women’s Circle
Re-turning is a seasonal women’s circle.
It meets at the thresholds of the year, when one season gives way to the next. Its purpose is to honor cyclical nature and to make space. Space to arrive, to breathe, and to let the day fall away before anything else is asked of us.
We gather as our foremothers did, in a small group of seven. There is no expectation of self-improvement, no pressure to perform, and no need to move toward an outcome. What brings us together is a shared willingness to be present with our lives as they are, held within a field of feminine intuition and lived wisdom.
The rhythm of the circle follows the seasons themselves. We sit with the lift and anticipation of spring, the fullness of summer, the harvest and release of autumn, and the inward turn of winter. In this way, the circle mirrors the natural world. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is forced. We honor the season we are in, both collectively and individually.
When we gather, we begin by settling. We take a moment to arrive fully, to let the noise of the day soften. From there, the circle unfolds There is space for story, for listening, and for silence. We listen for what is tender, unfinished, or changing. We stand witness for our sisters and ourselves.
Each gathering stands on its own. You come when it feels right, and you leave without needing to carry anything forward. The circle opens, holds what is present, and then closes.
This way of gathering is not new. Across time, women have come together to mark change and to leave traces for those who follow. From early handprints on cave walls to oral stories carried through generations, this has been one way women have remembered themselves through time. Re-turning lives in that lineage. It is about staying in relationship with the movement of life as it unfolds.
The women who are called to it may arrive carrying many forms of orientation. Some come with ancestral stories or guides close at hand. Some orient through the land, symbol, prayer, or personal cosmology. Some arrive without language for any of this, only a sense that being together matters. The circle belongs to continuity of oneness rather than a single identity.
Re-turning is offered in the spirit of the feminine gift economy. There is a suggested contribution, which supports the ongoing tending of the circle. Those with more are welcome to give generously. Those with less are invited to give what they can. No one is turned away from lack of funds. Space is limited, and the circle is filled first come, first served, with the belief that all those who are meant to arrive do. That which is meant for you will not miss you.
If the idea of gathering at the seasonal thresholds feels warm and familiar in your body, you are welcome to sign up to receive invitations when the circle opens. The circle will meet again when the season turns.
Re-turning opens four times a year, aligned with the equinoxes and solstices. Each gathering is held live online and kept intentionally small.
The next circle will gather around the Spring Equinox, with the upcoming session held on March 20 at 8:00 PM Eastern Time, which corresponds to the morning of March 21 in Kuala Lumpur.
